Quick tip for those people who (like me) are frustrated about new feature "raytrace renderer" whitch is supporte only on some video cards like nVidia quatro or gtx 570. if you have nVidia card with cuda you can hack cs6 to enable GPU rendering. I have GFX 460 and it works great.

All you need to do is to:

1. Check if you have  nVidia card

2. Check i your card support CUDA technology (nvidia.com)

3. Edit text file

(windows)

c:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\raytracer_supported_cards.txt

(OSX)

go to

/Applications/Adobe After Effects CS6/

on After Effects CS6.app - right click and choose show package contents

then navigate to

Contents/raytracer_supported_cards.txt

If you openned this file then add card model, i have Nvidia GFX 460 so i added my card just above gfx 470

GeForce GTX 285

GeForce GTX 460

GeForce GTX 470

...

save file (sometimes its required to type your password)

restart After Effects and its done !
